In
the spirit of fostering growth of our hobby and supporting young members
who may have independently an interest in model railroading, the Sam
Brendle Youth Convention Scholarship is offered to help in their
attendance at the Lone Star Region Convention in June. An award of $500
toward the expenses of the convention will be given to the selected
candidate at the convention. (If earlier dispensation do to hardship is
necessary, to make attendance possible, this will be considered.) The
Alamo Rails planning committee youth member states that the admission to
the convention would be extended complimentary for the youth and one
adult. Admission includes the regular admission, and the Saturday
evening Banquet and Sunday morning Breakfast where the Scholarship
recipient will be recognized. Any extra fare items or other
memorabilia would need to be purchased.
