Amtrak's home in San Antonio

Amtrak has a new station in San Antonio. It is really nice and captures the flavor of the original Southern Pacific station which is next door. The picture below gives you a peek at the new station.

A development company completely refurbished the old Southern Pacific station and has turned it into a complex housing eateries and nightclub facilities. It is now a very nice tourist attraction. In fact, they moved the old Southern Pacific 2-8-2 No. 794 onto a storage track next to the station. It has been cosmetically refurbished and looks good. It is a sister engine to the one that travels between Austin and Burnett. The picture below shows the locomotive beside the station.
