Here is the list of the upcoming railroad events of which I am aware within the LSR. I provide all the information YOU send me or I can glean for these events. Further information is available through the NMRA Scale Rails and various trade magazines. Please forward send any and all information about upcoming events or activities in your area, club, etc., to me via email at bdr149@airmail.net. Also, note that all show times and dates are at the discretion of the sponsoring organization and are subject to change.

Conventions:

Lone Star Region 57^th Annual Convention

The Lone Star Region NMRA Convention will be held June 18-22, 2008, at the Holiday Inn Houston Southwest, 11160 Southwest Freeway, Houston , TX 77031 (Hwy 59 S at Beltway 8), 281-530-1400. Rooms are $75. Other details are being worked out. Co chairmen are Loren Neufeld (lorenMR@aol.com) and Kelly Russell (krussl@yahoo.com).

North Texas Council of Railroad Clubs Meeting
Irving, TX
The North Texas Council of Railroad Clubs (NTC) meets the third Tuesday of the month. Visit the NTC website www.dfwtrainshows.com for more information about the NTC, its meeting site or its member clubs. All model railroaders welcome.

DFW Area Lionel Modular Group Meeting
Plano, TX
The DFW Lionel Modular Group meets the second Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m. in the Gladys Harrington Library; 1501 East 18th St.; Plano, TX. For more information call (972) 422-4330.

6^th & 7^th Alamo Model RR Engineers 19^th Annual Fall Train Show, Live Oak Center, San Antonio

13^th &14^th LMRA 25^th Anniversary Model Train Show

2007 Fall Model Railroad Home Layout Tour in the Houston area, celebrating National Model Railroad Month, will occur on weekends October 13 – December 2. 80 layout owners and clubs will be open, some multiple times, over the 8 weeks. Included are layouts from Z – 1-1/2” scale with 5 in the Beaumont area and 5 in the Bryan – College Station area. 16^th The Greater Houston Train Show will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2007, 10:00a – 5:00p, at the Stafford Center , 10505 Cash Road @ Murphy Rd. , Stafford, TX,77477. There will be 20,000 square feet of operating layouts, instructive clinics, model and photo contests, vendors, plus home layout tours. Admission is $6 or adults, $1 for youth, and children under 12 are free. For more information see http://sanjac.leoslair.com.
